The Elephant in the Room

I do believe there is one. That thing is trumpeting constantly, it seems, and it makes my ears and head hurt. It does it when I'm awake, when I'm eating, when I'm typing, hell, it even wakes me up just to do it again! It's become so painful that it even makes my eyes water.

I'm not kidding, this is what I look like right now...or what it feels like...
I wish I could get my nose back to normal, because I'm going mad. I miss when I could blow my nose and something would come out. My nose feels like a waterfall but nothing ever comes out. I'm wasting tissues and tearing my skin up. And (you've felt this) when I'm about to sneeze, it dies and I am left with  watery, aching sinuses. It's around that time when I consider carving them out of my head or puncturing them.

I am longing for the next stage and the aftermath of the cold, when I blow my nose and I can barely contain what comes out (sounds gross but it feels way better than this). When my head finally clears I will sing songs of utter joy...in a thick, mucous-clogged voice. It'll be weird cos I'll be able to hear my sinuses click.

But hey, at least it'll all be gone until December. Or if not, it'll be gone till next year! Now, if you'll excuse me...

Interrupted

I woke up this morning with a sore throat. I thought little of it, because I'd been sleeping with my mouth open all night. When my head started to feel stuffy, I knew it was a cold. I still thought little of it, because it's early autumn, and colds are a staple in this seasonal diet. I took precautions; orange juice, chicken noodle soup, and Coricidin. I wanted to make sure that if this was going to be a cold, it was going to be mild. And at first it was all mild. I had counted on sniffles, stuffy head, sore throat, and a red nose. I was not expecting aches, pains, and a fever. I've never, never gotten a fever or this achy with a cold. It threw me for a bit of a loop; I actually had to ask my mother what to do about it. I ended up passed out on the couch 85 percent of the day, and I was only awake longer than an hour at one point in thee day.

This would happen the day I was going to start my new health regimen. Please click now.

For sure, though, once I get rid of this cold, the diet will be in effect starting the next morning. But it had better hurry up and cure itself soon.

Otherwise...this will be me....

Cinnamon Soda

My Pepsi tasted more like cinnamon today. Usually I can't really distinguish the flavours within the original. I hardly ever think about the fact that Pepsi has at least four different distinct tastes. It was just this summer that someone pointed them out; lemon, cinnamon, chocolate, and vanilla. He instructed me to taste for each one individually, to see if I couldn't find them. That evening I picked up a 2 litre of the cola, and sure enough, I tasted all four of them! Mind. Blown.

After that, I paid attention every once in a while when I decided to indulge myself, though really, I hardly had enough time to focus on it since I practically downed the drink every time. Most of the time I taste the chocolate, hardly ever lemon or vanilla. I don't really notice the cinnamon, either; I tended to associate it with those red candies that set your mouth on fire from their potency.

Mmmm, so refreshing...but now I want the water in the background...
Maybe it was because of the food. I had dinner with my mother at Applebee's tonight, and after I found out I just don't like strawberry drinks (no matter how much lemonade you mix them with), I drank a Pepsi. The first flavour I tasted was cinnamon, and it was almost overpowering. The second one it came with was vanilla, but not nearly as distinctly. I realize now that it probably almost tasted like a snickerdoodle. We went on a 7-11 run for more soda, and the same thing happened; I tasted the cinnamon. But the funny thing is; I had a can this afternoon with lunch from the Festival; I didn't pick up on even a slight imbalance in flavour!

For anyone who drinks Pepsi, I recommend you look for the four flavours. It will blow your mind if you can find them! And if it doesn't blow your mind, well, it's still interesting to notice them! Again, I note, these are all in the plain, original Pepsi.
